Job Description: EHS Officer - Power Plant Projects
EarthStream Global are seeking a highly skilled EHS Officer to support short-term outages on power plant projects. The ideal candidate will possess relevant HSE certifications, a minimum of 3 years of experience working on power plant projects, and the flexibility to travel on short notice. This is a dynamic role requiring a commitment to maintaining and promoting a culture of safety and compliance during high-intensity, short-duration projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure strict adherence to all applicable environmental, health, and safety regulations on-site.
- Conduct site inspections, risk assessments, and audits to identify and mitigate hazards.
- Monitor compliance with company policies, project-specific HSE plans, and legal requirements.
- Respond promptly to incidents, near misses, and emergencies, conducting investigations to determine root causes and recommending corrective actions.
- Maintain thorough documentation of incidents and prepare detailed reports.
- Deliver site-specific safety orientations and toolbox talks to ensure all personnel are aware of safety protocols.
- Provide guidance on best practices and foster a culture of safety among the workforce.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date HSE records, including permits, inspections, and training logs.
- Prepare detailed daily and outage-end reports for management and stakeholders.
- Work closely with site management, contractors, and other stakeholders to identify and resolve HSE issues effectively.
- Act as the primary point of contact for all HSE-related matters during outages.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Relevant HSE Certification(s) (e.g., NEBOSH, OSHA).
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in an EHS role on power plant projects, including outage work.
- Comprehensive knowledge of power plant operations, outage protocols, and associated risks.
- Proven ability to implement and monitor effective safety management systems in high-pressure environments.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to train and motivate a diverse workforce.
- Proficiency in incident investigation methodologies and report writing.
Additional Requirements:
- Ability to work in varying conditions, including high-temperature environments and confined spaces.
- Valid driver's license and passport for international travel.
- High adaptability and willingness to travel on short notice for short-term assignments.
