Material Handling Manager – Power Plant Projects (USA)

We are seeking an experienced Material Handling Manager to support large-scale power plant projects within the energy sector. This role is critical to ensuring the safe, compliant, and high‑quality control, storage, and movement of materials and equipment, including heavy-duty power generation components.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage all site material handling activities across power plant construction and installation phases
  • Oversee inventory control for heavy-duty power plant equipment, including turbines, generators, auxiliaries, and balance-of-plant materials
  • Ensure materials are received, inspected, stored, preserved, and issued in accordance with project quality standards and OEM requirements
  • Coordinate logistics, warehousing, laydown yard operations, and interface with procurement, quality, and construction teams
  • Implement and maintain robust material tracking, documentation, and reporting systems
  • Ensure full compliance with quality plans, inspection & test plans (ITPs), and material traceability requirements
  • Manage non-conformance issues related to material damage, incorrect storage, or handling and support corrective actions
  • Enforce HSE, lifting, and quality procedures during all material handling activities
  • Identify risks related to material quality, preservation, or availability and implement mitigation plans
Required Experience & Qualifications
  • Proven experience as a Material Handling Manager on power plant or major industrial projects
  • Strong background supporting OEM-led projects
  • Demonstrated experience managing quality-critical and heavy-duty power generation equipment inventory
  • Solid understanding of material quality control, preservation standards, and documentation requirements
  • Experience working closely with QA/QC teams and supporting audits and inspections
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, schedule-driven project environment
  • Strong communication and coordination skills across multiple stakeholders
